A K-8 number sense routine loved by students and teachers alike
Tile Farm Academy complements any K–8 math curriculum through three connected experiences: Daily Digits, Number Portraits, and Tile Talk. Together, they give students a simple, joyful routine for building number sense, strengthening mathematical confidence, and developing a more positive relationship with math.

Daily Digits
Build number sense and fluency through beautiful, intuitive games and puzzles.
How it’s used: An individualized 5-10 minute daily routine that adapts to students’ learning needs.
Why students and teachers love it: Students enjoy the playful games and puzzles, while teachers get differentiated math practice with real conceptual depth and no added planning.

Number Portraits
Turn math into personal expression with curriculum-aligned creative activities.
How it’s used: A 1-2 times weekly whole-class activity that is joyful, creative, and conceptually deep.
Why students and teachers love it: Students get a rare opportunity to use math creatively and make something they are proud of, while teachers see a level of excitement that can leave students asking for more math.
Tile Talk
Spark lively, student-centered math discussion with visual, standards-aligned prompts.
How it’s used: A 2-3 times weekly whole-class discussion that builds reasoning, mathematical language, and confidence.
Why students and teachers love it: Students enjoy the social experience of sharing and defending their ideas, while teachers gain valuable insight into what students understand and uncover natural teaching moments.

A Connected K–8 Learning Progression
Tile Farm Academy follows a continuous, conceptually rich progression designed to build flexible thinking, problem-solving skills, lasting number sense, and a lifelong love of math.

PreK–2:
Building early number sense and a joyful relationship with math
Students build deep conceptual foundations in counting, quantity, place value, addition, and subtraction while developing confidence and experiencing math as creative, playful, and meaningful.

Grades 3–5:
Building fluency, flexibility, and problem-solving perseverance
Students deepen their understanding of multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and multi-step reasoning while learning to explain their thinking and creatively approach problems in multiple ways.

Grades 6–8:
Building confidence and a strong foundation for high school math
Students strengthen fluency with multiplication, fractions, decimals, order of operations, integers, ratios, and algebraic reasoning while building the confidence and flexibility needed for higher mathematics.
Rooted in Cognitive Science
Tile Farm Academy draws on research in cognitive science, mathematics education, and social-emotional learning to strengthen understanding, fluency, problem-solving, and students’ relationships with mathematics. Its approach is supported by ESSA Tier IV evidence.
